Job SummaryThe Senior Awning Fabricator & Shop Lead is a critical role responsible for the end-to-end production of custom awning projects. This is a hands‑on position that requires a "master-level" understanding of awning manufacturing, from initial planning and material procurement to final fabrication. The ideal candidate is a talented craftsman who is organized, dependable, and capable of leading a small team to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning: Review client specifications and design functional, high‑quality awning solutions.
- Materials Management: Accurately calculate and order necessary materials (fabrics, frames, hardware) to ensure project efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
- Fabrication: Execute the complete manufacturing process, including cutting, sewing, assembly and installation of custom awnings.
- Team Leadership: Direct and mentor helpers/junior staff to ensure tasks are completed safely and to company standards.
- Workflow Management: Manage production schedules to meet deadlines, ensuring all work is completed with precision.
- Quality Control: Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship, ensuring every product leaving the shop meets client expectations.
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience specifically within an awning manufacturing shop.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to handle the physical demands of fabrication and shop work.
- Hours: Standard shift is 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
- Overtime: Occasional overtime will be required to meet project deadlines and seasonal demand.
- Pay: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour, depending on experience. This position is also open to being structured as a salaried role for the right candidate.
- Paid Time Off: Paid holidays, two weeks of paid vacation after 1 year of employment.
- Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 in relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates moving to the area.
