CNC Tool & Cutter Grinder​/CNC Tool Grinder

We are working with a precision solid carbide cutting tool manufacturer seeking an experienced CNC Tool & Cutter Grinder / CNC Tool Grinder to support the production and optimization of high-performance round tools, including drills, end mills, and reamers.

This position is ideal for someone currently working in a carbide or cutting tool manufacturing environment who has hands-on experience with CNC tool grinding machines and understands both tool geometry and production-level precision requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and optimize CNC tool grinding machines, including Walter and Reinecker platforms
• Manufacture and refine solid carbide round cutting tools such as drills, end mills, and reamers
• Interpret tooling specifications, blueprints, and geometry requirements to produce precision rotary cutting tools
• Utilize advanced tool inspection and measurement systems including Walter Helicheck, Zoller Pom Basic, and Bruker Alicona
• Work within Tool Studio or similar tool design software to support geometry verification and process accuracy
• Analyze runout, concentricity, surface finish, flute form, and dimensional tolerances to ensure tool performance and consistency
• Troubleshoot grind strategy, wheel selection, offsets, and machine parameters to improve tool quality and production efficiency
• Support new tool introductions and continuous improvement initiatives within a CNC tool grinding environment
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to maintain manufacturability and repeatability

Required Experience:

• Experience working as a CNC Tool & Cutter Grinder, CNC Tool Grinder, or Tool & Cutter Grinder within a solid carbide or cutting tool manufacturing environment
• Hands-on background with Walter or Reinecker CNC grinding machines
• Direct experience producing solid carbide drills, end mills, reamers, or similar round tools
• Familiarity with inspection and metrology systems such as Helicheck, Zoller, Alicona, or comparable precision measurement equipment
• Strong understanding of cutting tool geometry, carbide materials, grinding processes, and tolerances
• Ability to work independently in a high-precision manufacturing setting

Preferred Background:

• Experience using Tool Studio or other tool design software
• Exposure to coating considerations, flute design, relief angles, and grind wheel selection
• Prior involvement in process improvement or production optimization initiatives
• Comfortable reading engineering drawings and supporting documentation
