Newly hired employees start with a GREAT PAY – Lining & Coating Utility pay rate is $23.73 per hour. This is an hourly position with outstanding benefits: vacation, holiday pay, medical, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, short‑term disability, a company‑matched 401(k), and ten paid holidays.

Employees are eligible for 40 hours vacation after six months of continuous employment. All newly employed hourly workers must have satisfactory performance and attendance to satisfy all requirements of the mandatory 480‑hour probationary period.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program. Advise management of any deviations from this program.
  • Operate machinery used in the production process or assist machine operators.
  • Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
  • Observe equipment operations so that malfunctions can be detected and notify operators of any malfunctions.
  • Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items manually or using hoists.
  • Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete.
  • Mark or tag identification on parts.
  • Load and unload items from machines, conveyors, and conveyances.
  • Help production workers perform duties of lesser skill, such as supplying or holding materials or tools or cleaning work areas and equipment.
  • Use appropriate tools to finish castings based on quality specifications.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment.
  • Record information, such as the number of products tested, meter readings, or dates and times of product production.
Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred).
  • One to three years of related on‑job experience required.
  • Previous work experience in a foundry or heavy manufacturing environment preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES and WORK ACTIVITIES
  • Knowledge required: production and processing; mechanical.
  • Skills required:

    operation monitoring; reading comprehension; active listening; complex problem solving; critical thinking; operation and control.
  • Abilities required: trunk strength; arm‑hand steadiness; manual dexterity; near vision; static strength; written comprehension; finger dexterity; multi‑limb coordination; oral comprehension; reaction time; category flexibility; control precision; information ordering; oral expression; problem sensitivity; selective attention; speech clarity; speech recognition; visualization.
  • Work activities: handling and moving objects; performing general physical activities; communicating with supervisors and peers; controlling machines and processes; inspecting equipment, structures, and material; gathering information; evaluating information to determine compliance with standards; monitoring processes, materials, and surroundings; identifying objects, actions, and events; organizing, planning, and prioritizing work; documenting/recording information; making decisions and solving problems; processing information.
  • Physical requirements:

    moderately heavy lifting/carrying equal to 40–50 pounds; frequent carrying or lifting greater than 40 times per hour; bending below the waist; occasional waist bending; pushing/pulling maximum weight of 25 pounds un‑wheeled; twisting torso; use of fingers and both hands; ability to work in high temperatures or humidity; work around moving machinery, dust, fumes; wear protective equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats.
