1st Shift Web Press Operator Trainee Pay: $21.00 per hour
Hours:
Monday–Friday, 5:30am–2:00pm

Join a well-established printing and production team as a 1st Shift Web Press Operator Trainee in Portland, ME and make an impact every day. As a 1st Shift Web Press Operator Trainee, you'll learn to operate multi-color business forms presses while supporting quality, safety, and on-time production.
You'll work closely with the shift leader and production team to deliver results that make a difference.
What You'll Do As a 1st Shift Web Press Operator Trainee, you will be responsible for:
Learning to read job tickets, confirm details, and follow layout instructions Help set up the press (plates, feeder/delivery units) and prepare materials/stock Assist with inking, mixing solutions, and monitoring ink/water levels during runs Perform quality checks, make adjustments, and keep production moving smoothly Complete cleanup, basic maintenance, housekeeping, and barcode/job tracking
What You'll Bring The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Strong mechanical aptitude (work experience or hobbies that show you're hands-on) Great attention to detail and a commitment to doing things the right way Ability to work safely around machinery and follow written instructions Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the shift in a production setting
