Experienced Travel OR RN needed for a Level 1 Trauma Center in Portland, Maine (04102)—13-week contract, days, 36 hours/week, Epic EMR, and DaVinci Xi robotics.

Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Hourly Pay Rate: $0/hr
  • Weekend Rotation: 1 in 4 weekends (12-hour shifts)
  • Call Requirements: One overnight trauma call (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM); specialty team call as scheduled (Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:1
  • Unit Size: 26 beds
  • EMR: Epic
  • Equipment/Technology: Storz, Stryker, Olympus, Intuitive Robot (DaVinci Xi)
  • Dress Code: Teal scrubs (issued by the hospital)
Operating Room RN (OR Nurse) Requirements
  • License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (per facility requirements)
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of Level 1 trauma-trained Operating Room experience required
  • Trauma: Level 1 trauma OR experience required
  • Robotics: Competency with DaVinci Xi robotic surgery required
  • Case Competencies: PCNLs, nephrectomies, ureteral reimplants, hysterectomies, cystectomies, colpocleisis, hysteroscopies, ureteroscopies
  • Patient Population: Comfortable caring for patients from pediatrics to geriatrics
  • Preferred Certification: CNOR preferred
  • Professional Fit: Flexible, accountable, timely, and team-oriented
Key Responsibilities (Perioperative Nursing)
  • Provide safe, high-quality perioperative RN care in a high-acuity Operating Room environment
  • Scrub and/or circulate for complex GU/GYN procedures and trauma-capable surgical services
  • Support robotic surgery cases using DaVinci Xi, ensuring equipment readiness and patient safety
  • Maintain sterile technique, complete accurate surgical counts, and follow OR safety standards
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the multidisciplinary perioperative team
  • Document care accurately in Epic per facility policy
  • Participate in trauma and specialty call coverage per schedule
