Our 20-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit is seeking a passionate and driven Nurse to join our thriving team. You will have the opportunity to provide high-quality care to patients with a large variety of ICU diagnoses, building broad critical care nursing skills. Due to the complexity and acuity of our patient population, nurses must be vigilant, proactive, and confident in their assessment and decision-making. Many patients require mechanical ventilation, vasoactive support, and frequent exams to monitor for subtle but significant clinical changes.

SummaryThe Clinical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center’s mission, vision, and values by exhibiting excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient- and family-centered care, commitment to our community, and accountability. In accordance with national standards and the policies of Maine Medical Center and the Maine State Board of Nursing, the Clinical Nurse conducts assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of nursing care.
Care delivery and coordination of patient and family care begins with the initial contact with the health care system and may continue across the continuum. Services may be provided on an inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and/or community basis.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Certifications:
Current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Maine.
As this is an entry-level position, experience as an RN is not required. ICU experience preferred.
