Position:
Clinical Nurse (RN) in Operating Room, Orthopedics Specialty. Full-time, day shift. Operating Room experience required.

Summary:

The Clinical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center's mission, vision, and values. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of nursing care per national standards, Maine Medical Center policies, and Maine State Board of Nursing guidelines. Care delivery may be inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, or community based.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Must matriculate to a BSN program within 1 year of hire and complete within 5 years.
  • License/Certification:
    Current Maine RN license. Relevant specialty certification preferred.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 1 year RN experience. Operating Room experience required.
  • Knowledge:
    Basic understanding of nursing theory, research, and practice.
  • Skills:

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient, family, and team interactions.
  • Assessment:
    Analytical ability to identify changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate action.
  • Judgment:
    Ability to recognize crisis situations involving patients/families and initiate appropriate action.
  • Practice:
    Demonstrates caring nursing practice and promotes healing environment.
  • Competence:
    Demonstrates required knowledge and technical skills for most patient populations on the unit.
