American Traveler is seeking a night shift PACU RN with at least 3 years of recent PACU experience and Trauma Level 1 background to support cardiac cath, EP, and TAVR patients.
Details- Work in the Periop Pre-Post PACU unit supporting Cardiac Cath, EP, and TAVR procedures
- Unit has 40 pre/post beds and 9 overnight bays with embedded 23-hour short stay
- Patient ratios of 2:1 for Phase 1 Care, up to 3-4 for 23-hour stay patients
- Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required (Saturday days scheduled)
- Rotating call requirements
- Float required to Bramhall PACU, IMC, and ICU as needed within a 25-mile float policy
- Uses IV pumps, PCAs, epidurals, A-lines, tele monitoring, and TEE/CV equipment
- Epic EMR used

Requirements- Active RN license (ME or Compact) required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of recent PACU experience required
- Prior ICU experience required
- Trauma Level 1 experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Experience with pre/post procedure care for TEE, CV, Cath, and EP or OR procedures
- Experience with cardiac drips, IVs, tele monitoring, Phase 1 care, groin management, and EKGs required
- Ability to read tele strips required
- Driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required
- Support overnight population for MFT 1 with opportunity to float to Main PACU
- Care for Cath/EP/TEE Cardioversion and OR procedure patients including pre/post vascular, robotic TAVRs, and pediatric caths
- Team player with excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude preferred
- Any color scrubs accepted, must be fragrance-free
- Artificial nails and cell phone use on the unit are prohibited
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any Maine Health facility are considered local, with local candidates not eligible for renewals or extensions
- RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
- Candidates who have worked at any Maine Health facility within the past 12 months must disclose this information
