American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital position requiring 2 years of recent acute care experience and a Maine or compact RN license.

• Med/Surg unit providing transitional care for medically ready-for-discharge patients
• 46-bed unit with a mix of medical and surgical patients
• Patient ratio of 1:8 max
• Uses specialty beds, Philips monitors, overhead lifts, Sara Steady, standing scale, bladder scanner, Hover Mat, Sage Mat, Synergy Air beds, Stryker beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, walkers, and slide boards
• Charting is done in Epic
• Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• May float based on skillset within a 25-mile radius between facilities

• Active RN license (Maine or compact) required
• BLS certification required; non-AHA certifications accepted at submission but AHA must be completed prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience required
• Recent EMR/charting experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required

• Provide patient-centered Med/Surg nursing care with a focus on teamwork and communication
• Complete required Healthstream education modules
• Scrubs may be any fragrance-free color; artificial nails, hoodies, graphic t-shirts, open-toed shoes, and unprofessional attire are not permitted
• Air pods, laptops, and cell phone use are prohibited on the unit
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any Maine Health facility are considered local and are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• Candidates who have worked at any Maine Health facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
• RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
