Assistant Store Manager

Brighton Avenue Market

Rosemont Market & Bakery is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to help lead the team and day-to-day operations at our Brighton market.

Our Assistant Store Managers are hands-on leaders who work closely with the Store Manager to create a welcoming experience for customers, support and develop employees, and keep the market running smoothly. This is a great opportunity for an experienced retail, food service, or hospitality professional who loves food, enjoys working with people, and is ready to grow their leadership skills.

What You'll Do Lead & Develop the Team
  • Partner with the Store Manager to lead daily market operations and create a positive, respectful team environment.

  • Help interview, hire, onboard, train, and develop retail employees.

  • Provide coaching and feedback to help employees succeed and grow.

  • Help plan staffing and provide coverage to keep all areas of the market running smoothly.

  • Take on additional leadership responsibilities when the Store Manager is away.

  • Help maintain accurate timekeeping and employee documentation.

  • Communicate important employee and operational updates to the Store Manager and Director of Retail Operations.

Support Sales & Inventory
  • Partner with the Store Manager to meet sales goals and reduce inventory shrink.

  • Maintain accurate inventory and follow Rosemont's inventory management processes.

  • Process invoices accurately and on time.

  • Assist with special orders and other inventory-related projects.

  • Help ensure the team has the information and resources they need to be successful.

Keep the Market Running Well
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming market.

  • Uphold Rosemont's standards for food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and quality.

  • Identify and communicate safety, maintenance, and equipment concerns.

  • Respond appropriately to workplace injuries and other urgent situations when the Store Manager is unavailable.

  • Help ensure the market consistently looks and feels like Rosemont.

Experience & Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in retail, customer service, food service, hospitality, or a related field.

  • Previous leadership or management experience preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.

  • Previous experience with POS systems and inventory management preferred.

  • Experience with Catapult or another inventory management system is a plus.

Schedule & Work Environment
  • Full-time position with a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, and weekends.

  • This is an in-person, hands-on position at a Rosemont Market location.

  • Our markets are busy, active environments featuring groceries, fresh produce, baked goods, prepared foods, and specialty and local products.

  • Moderate to loud ambient noise is part of the work environment.

  • Attendance at trainings and certifications may be required.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position. You should be comfortable with:

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
    .

  • Bending, lifting, twisting, squatting, and reaching throughout the workday.

  • Standing and moving throughout the market for extended periods.

  • Sitting at a desk for periods of computer work.
