This is a full-time, on-site Salesperson role based in Portland, ME. The Salesperson will engage with prospective and existing customers, listen to their needs, and recommend appropriate electrical, generator, heat pump, and solar solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to inquiries, conducting on-site assessments, preparing estimates and proposals, and following up to close sales. The role involves coordinating with technical teams to ensure accurate scopes of work, maintaining detailed records in the CRM, and meeting or exceeding sales targets.

The Salesperson is expected to represent LaPlante Electric professionally, build long-term customer relationships, and support marketing and outreach initiatives as needed.

• Demonstrated skills in consultative selling, customer service, and relationship-building within a trades or home services environment.
• Ability to explain technical concepts related to electrical, generator, heat pump, or solar systems in clear, accessible language.
• Experience using CRM or sales management tools, with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
• Comfort with on-site visits, estimating, and preparing accurate, written proposals for customers.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to collaborate effectively with field technicians and office staff.
• Goal-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting sales targets or performance metrics.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to customer locations in the region.
• Previous experience in electrical, HVAC, solar, or related home services sales is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education in business or a related field is a plus.
