We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales. The Director of Sales is responsible for driving overall sales and marketing results across all segments, directing the property Sales Team ensuring goals are achieved. To be successful in this role you will need a thorough understanding of market and industry trends, be a strategic thinker, and possess strong leadership and negotiation skills.
In this role, you will be responsible for generating new business and collaborating on strategies to increase occupancy and revenue. The ideal candidate for this role is a highly motivated, energetic, seasoned hospitality sales professional with local market experience.

General Responsibilities:
- Direct, lead, coordinate, and supervise Sales Team in all sales related activities.
- Grow existing accounts and generate new business to exceed budget and maximize revenue and profits.
- Maintain existing account relationships.
- Formulate sales and marketing strategies for assigned hotel.
- Collaborate with Sales Team, Revenue Management, and Hotel General Manager to maximize profitability and capture group business in all segments including corporate transient business of properties while maintaining guest satisfaction.
- Train and support all Sales Associates and ensure they perform in accordance with established Colwen Hotels and brand sales standards.
- Set sales strategies to achieve overall property goals for both rate and occupancy.
- Create and execute annual marketing plan addressing sales strategy and budget goals.
- Understand hotel operations including room types, meeting capacities, services, features, and benefits of assigned properties.
- Possess solid knowledge of market conditions and competitors, economic trends, and supply and demand.
- Conduct proactive solicitation of new business to achieve revenue goals, including meaningful phone conversations, outside sales calls, site visits, professional email communications, and social media campaigns.
- Meet monthly revenue goals for both room and banquet sales.
- Achieve personal sales call goals and advise team on meeting assigned goals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activity/transactions.
- Target accounts, markets, or segments with proactive solicitation and account saturation.
- Participate in local networking organizations, community, and industry events while representing Colwen Hotels in a professional manner.
- Maintain knowledge of the competition.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years Hotel Director of Sales experience
- 4+ years proven sales record
- Proficient in English language
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (grammar, punctuation, spelling)
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
- Proven ability to drive the sales process
- Able to travel to various local locations for sales call and networking
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Strong leader of people
- Strategic thinker
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, familiar with common computer software programs, and ability to learn new software programs
