Adecco Permanent Recruitment is actively searching for a Territory Sales Representative for a well-established company within the food service distribution industry in Portland, ME. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales professional who enjoys building customer relationships, growing existing business, and developing new accounts throughout their territory.

This is a field-based sales position combining account management, consultative selling, and new business development. The Territory Sales Representative will work directly with restaurants, hospitality groups, institutions, and other food service operators while partnering internally with Customer Service, Operations, Purchasing, and Finance.

Field-Based Position - Portland, ME territory. The majority of the workweek will be spent in the field visiting customers and developing new business.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow an established portfolio of food service accounts while maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory through prospecting, networking, and referrals.
  • Provide customers with product recommendations, market insights, and menu support.
  • Drive revenue growth through product expansion, account penetration, and strategic sales initiatives.
  • Develop relationships with restaurants, hospitality groups, institutions, and other food service operators throughout the territory.
  • Work closely with Customer Service, Operations, Purchasing, and Finance to support customer needs and provide a strong customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, and pipeline information within CRM systems.
  • Monitor competitive activity, industry trends, and customer needs to identify sales opportunities.
  • Support accounts receivable collection efforts and proactively resolve customer concerns when needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-3 years of successful outside sales, account management, or customer-facing business development experience.
  • Experience managing and growing existing customer accounts.
  • Experience prospecting for and developing new business opportunities.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a large territory, prioritize sales activities, and work independently.
  • Comfortable working toward sales, revenue, profit, and growth objectives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to spend the majority of the workweek in the field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Food service distribution, hospitality, food & beverage, produce, specialty foods, or related industry experience.
  • Experience selling directly to restaurants, hospitality groups, institutions, or other food service operators.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
