Corrections Officer

Cumberland County seeks Corrections Officers to maintain safety, security, and order within county detention facilities. In this entry-level role, you will supervise inmates, conduct security checks, enforce rules, and assist with intake, searches, and movement of individuals in custody. Paid training is provided, with no prior corrections experience required. Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise inmates within county detention facilities
• Conduct regular security checks and inspections of cells and common areas
• Enforce facility rules, regulations, and safety procedures
• Assist with inmate intake, identification, and release processes
• Perform searches of inmates, property, and facilities for contraband
• Escort and transport inmates within the facility as directed
• Respond to incidents, de-escalate conflicts, and follow emergency protocols
• Complete accurate incident, activity, and shift reports
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and inmates
• Participate in required training and maintain certifications as assigned
