Our Generator Technicians service and repair commercial generators on cell phone towers in your region. This role is a great match for independent, self‑starters who are willing to travel.
CoreResponsibilities
- Maintain generators; diagnose and repair problems; install and replace components or entire systems, and perform additional maintenance or upgrades on out‑of‑season equipment.
- Conduct performance checks and regular maintenance on generators to ensure proper readiness; read and follow blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair.
- Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and other components, and test for proper operation.
- Respond promptly/timely to power/generator alarms; be on call 24/7 if necessary and answer assigned phone and email.
- Work with awareness of all potential hazards associated with the installation and maintenance of power supply equipment, switching gear, and other equipment, including but not limited to falls, electric shock, falling objects, and traffic; use safety equipment and follow safety practices; attend and participate in all designated safety and training meetings.
Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Core Experience- Two or more years of experience with generator maintenance preferred; a minimum of one year of intensive work‑related experience with generator and electrical maintenance‑related software, hardware, and processes.
- Thorough knowledge of generator installations, maintenance, and repair; knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components; moderate computer skills.
- Basic knowledge of pertinent FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations.
At Pearce safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA standards.
- This position requires lifting over 50 pounds, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods of time.
- Must have the ability to inspect and/or troubleshoot equipment/alarms effectively, both visually and audibly.
- Must be willing and able to drive long distances, work day, evening, or night hours; overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and holidays as required; must assume 24‑hour on‑call duty when assigned and be gone from home for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
Base Pay Range: $30—$40 USD.
Employees may be eligible for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem or other applicable compensation.
