The Mechanical Maintenance Technician I is an integral member of our campus services team, specializing in HVAC , mechanical, electrical, and automotive systems. This position is primarily Monday through Friday, 1st shift, but requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends during winter storms, and participate in an on-call rotation.
The expected pay is $24.00 per hour (annualized to $49,920). Total compensation is between $66,525 and $79,443, depending on which medical and dental plans are selected.

  • Perform a variety of HVAC and Building Automation System ( BAS ) maintenance tasks, primarily related to preventative maintenance such as filter and belt replacements, along with basic troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Maintain an appropriate inventory of supplies and materials.
  • Perform daily maintenance operations related to mechanical, automotive fleet, and/or electrical systems.
  • Complete all daily work assignments.
  • Carry on-call phone responsibilities after training and qualification are met.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, shop, and vehicle in good working order.
  • Assist with snow removal activities, including shoveling, snow blowing, and plowing.
  • Comply with all occupational safety and health standards, rules, and regulations, and report any hazards, unsafe work practices, or accidents immediately to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as required.
