Maintenance Technician

Shearwater, a growing Portland based property management company with properties from Biddeford to Augusta, is seeking a reliable, skilled, and motivated on-site Maintenance Technician to join our team!

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, values customer service, and is looking to build a long-term career with a company that appreciates and supports its employees. This hands-on position offers a wide variety of responsibilities, including troubleshooting and repairs, preventative maintenance, apartment turnovers, and responding to resident service requests.

Responsibilities
  • Complete daily maintenance work orders
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC
  • Prepare vacant apartments for re-rental, including repairs, painting, etc.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance, including debris removal grounds upkeep.
  • Document maintenance activities and work orders using our property management software.
  • Participate in a rotating, after-hours emergency maintenance on-call schedule (evenings and weekends), with additional on-call compensation provided.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional technical training, trade school coursework, or industry certifications are beneficial but not required.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills (email) and mobile electronic work order systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.

Pay: $23-30
