Mobile Diesel Mechanic II $3000 New Hire Bonus

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II based in Indianapolis.

Fleet Services provides on‑site mobile maintenance and repair services nationwide for light, medium, and heavy‑duty trucks and trailers. The role involves performing DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs while traveling in the field.

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on a range of vehicles.
• Conduct minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, brake, cooling, starter, alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, steering, engine, transmission, clutch, and differential systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electronic, and electrical failures using handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other test instruments.
• Road test vehicles to confirm proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory, perform reconciliations, and procure parts from approved vendors.
• Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, conducting safety checks and pre/post‑trip inspections.
• Document work in Repair Orders (RO) and upload photos with the TRAIT application.
• Complete DOT forms and other required documentation promptly.
• Work independently, managing daily schedules and prioritizing tasks.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

• High School Diploma or GED; alternative qualifications accepted if equivalent experience is shown.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• Must possess and supply a set of hand tools needed for the job.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Pass a DOT‑regulated background screening and DOT physical (or provide a DOT medical card with at least 4 months remaining).
• Age 21 or older and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Safe driver required; maintain a Driver Qualification File.
• Able to physically lift, bend, climb, and perform moderately heavy labor over long periods.

USD 26.73 - 40.10 per hour. Eligible for additional compensation such as commission and incentive programs.
