The City of Portland's Health & Human Services Department is seeking a full time Program Coordinator to oversee the City's Prevention & Diversion Team and the Homeless Outreach Engagement Team. This position will provide leadership, coordination, and oversight of programs designed to support individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
As a key member of the City's Homeless Services efforts, this position will provide day to day leadership for two busy teams who are the face of the social services provided by the City. The Program Coordinator will work closely with staff, community partners, service providers, City departments, and individuals with lived experience to verify that programs are supporting community members and meeting reporting requirements.

• Supervise, support, and train staff.
• Coordinate team activities, schedules, and service deliveries to ensure effective outreach and prevention services.
• Build strong relationships with community organizations, service providers, and other community members.
• Represent social services programs and the City of Portland in meetings, community events, and other settings.
• Manage and monitor grant funded programs and other funding sources to confirm compliance with policies and procedures, contracts, and reporting requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in the area of human services, public health, or related field and considerable experience in social services or public health field, including supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Knowledge of program population issues, regions, and sectors related to specific programs.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Google Workspace.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Must possess a valid State of Maine Class C driver's license.
• Must have and maintain a good driving record.

• Administrative skills, including grant writing, recordkeeping, grant management, outcome measurement, and quality assurance.
• Experience in case management and crisis intervention.
• Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
• Familiarization with budgets and financial management.
• Experience and knowledge in working with individuals, families, and targeted populations.

Full-Time, 37.5 hours weekly. The schedule for this position is Monday and Tuesday 12pm-8:30pm and Wednesday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm.

Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check. The City will not sponsor an employment visa for this position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

This is a non union Grade C41 position with a starting pay range of $71,429-$73,572 per year, based on relevant years of experience.
