Preble Street - PORTLAND, ME 04101, The Teen Services Caseworker provides comprehensive case management and housing-related services while ensuring the safety of clients and program spaces; participates in program coverage and outreach activities; ensures the collection, documentation and reporting of information and data as required; and works as a member of the Teen Services team to support and achieve outcomes aligned with program goals and the agency mission.

Population Served:
Youth between the ages of 12-21 who are currently homeless or experiencing housing instability.

This is a full-time, 2nd shift position with a Sunday to Thursday, 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm schedule.

Qualifications:

Qualifications include Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field of study, or comparable combination of education and relevant experience. A Master's Degree in Social Work or related field of study, or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and 2-3 years relevant experience is preferred.

Caseworkers must also have an understanding of the Preble Street mission, Harm Reduction, Housing First, and social and economic justice including the role of policy advocacy throughout all programs and positions, as well as an understanding and positive regard for individuals experiencing homelessness and/or living in poverty.

Eligibility for employment with Teen Services also requires that staff be at least 21 years of age; hold certification or become certified in First Aid and CPR (on-site training opportunities offered); provide proof of education (diploma or transcript); and have acceptable background check results, including BMV. Teen Services staff must attend recurrent, regularly scheduled trainings provided on-site. Reliable transportation is required for this position.
