About the Role As a Senior Java Software Engineer, you will help design, develop, and deploy applications in a cloud-hosted distributed system that supports our next-generation product. You will collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional Agile and Dev Ops teams, contribute to architectural decisions, and help improve the way we deliver software in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities Design, develop and deploy applications in a cloud-hosted distributed system to build our next-generation product

Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify requirements and gather feedback in a fast-moving environment

Provide input into architectural decisions to ensure stability and performance

Identify and implement enhancements to continually improve our delivery process

Partner with cross-functional Agile and Dev Ops implementation teams

Requirements

Proficiency in most of these technologies:
Java 17 or higher, Spring / Spring Boot, a JavaScript / Type Script tool (React, Angular, etc), SQL, with a willingness to learn the others

Experience with build tools, Git and continuous integration (Git Hub Actions / Jenkins)
Enjoy collaborating with team members to create innovative solutions and supporting and mentoring others to share knowledge and up-skill team members

Experience with alerting, monitoring and logging tools (New Relic, Open Search / Kibana)

Experience with a modern IDE (IntelliJ / VSCode) and proficiency in using the refactoring tools

Openness to discussing and honing approaches for our team to improve our working practices

Experience of test-driven development and mocking libraries (Jest, Mockito), and familiarity with collaborative documentation tools (Jira and Confluence)
Real world experience of Agile practices and execution (Scrum, Kanban), design and development for cloud environments (i.e. docker, k8 / Kubernetes, AWS), and wanting to learn or have experience with AI based solutions
