Overview
Our client seeks an experienced Senior Accountant with strong general ledger expertise to support accurate financial reporting, month‑end close activities, and ongoing accounting operations. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys digging into the numbers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities General Ledger & Close- Maintain, prepare, and review journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Manage reconciliations for accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, depreciation, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Perform variance analysis and help identify financial trends and discrepancies.
- Support the development of internal dashboards and management reporting tools.
- Analyze operational and financial data to improve decision‑making and increase visibility into business performance.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
- Prepare audit schedules and assist with internal and external audit activities.
- Support the enhancement and documentation of internal processes and controls.
- Collaborate with operations, finance leadership, and cross‑functional partners to improve data quality and reporting accuracy.
- Serve as a resource for accounting questions and provide guidance across the team.
- Use ERP systems and advanced Excel tools (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Power Query, etc.) to streamline workflows.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve efficiencies.
- Assist with various ad‑hoc projects, analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
, with strong general ledger and financial reporting focus. - Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
- Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience required (SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
