Full-Charge Bookkeeper - NW Portland

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage all day-to-day accounting operations for our business. This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail‑oriented, comfortable owning the full accounting cycle, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

+ Perform full-cycle bookkeeping and maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records.

+ Manage Accounts Payable (AP), including vendor setup, invoice processing, and payments.

+ Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, posting payments, and collections follow-up.

+ Complete bank and account reconciliations on a regular schedule.

Payroll & Compliance

+ Process payroll for approximately 50 employees, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

+ Maintain payroll records and support compliance with state and federal requirements.

+ Manage and update business licenses and registrations as needed.

Operational Accounting Support

+ Assist with transferring data from Spectrum to Quick Books Desktop.

+ Prepare and process checks and other outgoing payments.

+ Support change order processing and accurate job cost tracking.

+ Collaborate with internal team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and documentation.

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Proven experience as a full-charge bookkeeper.

+ Strong proficiency with Quick Books Desktop.

+

Experience with Spectrum software is a plus (or the ability to learn quickly).

+ Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles.

+ High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

Preferred Attributes

+ Strong communication skills.

+ Process-oriented with the ability to improve accounting workflows.

+ Comfortable taking ownership of the company's day-to-day accounting function.
