Assistant Controller

Sue Sumrell is recruiting for an Assistant Controller | Public Accounting Background Required |

This is a high-impact Assistant Controller role with a fast-growing, multi-entity organization-ideal for someone coming out of a large public accounting firm who wants broader ownership, visibility, and influence.

You'll play a key role in financial reporting, close leadership, technical accounting, and team oversight, partnering closely with senior leadership in a business that's scaling.

+ Own and improve month-end close and financial reporting across multiple entities

+ Apply strong technical accounting judgment and strengthen controls

+ Review and approve journal entries; oversee balance sheet integrity

+ Lead and develop an accounting team in a fast-paced environment

+ Support ERP/system initiatives, audits, and year-end close

+ Partner with FP& A on corporate budgeting and analysis

Requirements

What we're looking for:

+ 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience

+

Required:

Experience from a large public accounting firm (Big 4 or national firm)

+ Strong background in GL, close, financial statements, and audit support

+ ERP experience required (Great Plains a plus)

+ CPA required

+ Experience auditing corporations over $500 million in revenue
