Our client is seeking a full-time Accounting Specialist for their office in Downtown Portland, OR. The ideal candidate should have excellent accounting and communication skills, accounts payable experience, and experience in legal billing coordination. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

* Initiate and maintain contact with clients to follow up on outstanding invoices and resolve payment issues.

* Review billing statements and accounts receivable aging reports to prioritize collection efforts.

* Negotiate payment arrangements and settlement terms when necessary.

* Document all collection activities and maintain accurate records.

* Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or disputes in a timely manner.

* Collaborate with the Billing and Collections team to identify and address systemic issues affecting collections.

* Generate collection reports and provide regular updates on accounts receivable status.

* Maintain professionalism and adhere to all legal and ethical standards in collections practices.

* Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously.

Qualifications:

* MUST have legal billing experience.

* Familiarity with billing and collections software and accounting systems.

* Strong negotiation and communication skills.

* Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

* Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to billing and collections is a plus.
