Job Title:
Accounting Clerk (AP/AR)
Location:Portland, OR
Salary Range:$27-$32 per hour DOE
Employment Type:Direct Hire, Hybrid, Full Time
Key Responsibilities:- Initiate and maintain contact with clients to follow up on outstanding invoices and resolve payment issues.
- Review billing statements and accounts receivable aging reports to prioritize collection efforts.
- Negotiate payment arrangements and settlement terms when necessary.
- Generate collection reports and provide regular updates on accounts receivable status.
- Process and review invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness of invoices.
- Reconciling vendor statements and maintaining vendor files.
- Provide assistance with vendor inquiries, prepare and process weekly check runs, and support other accounting functions as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, assist with month‑end close, and accruals.
- 3+ years of experience with AR/AP and/or just AR required.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to billing and AP is a plus.
