Key job responsibilities

• Supporting various aspects of our accounting and reporting process.
• End‑to‑end process ownership to support finance and business partners.
• Understand internal control design concepts and assess effectiveness of controls.
• Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure accurate month‑end close.
• Escalate risks and issues as necessary to leadership.
• Own ownership and identify process improvement and automation opportunities.
• Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects.
• Enhance partnerships between Accounting and other business and IT groups.
• Research, conclude and memorialize technical accounting position papers.

About the team:
The Global OpEx Accounting team ensures complete and accurate recognition of global operating expenditures for Amazon and supports global initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of month‑end close processes.

• 5+ years of finance or related analytical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

• CPA qualification.
• Knowledge of internal control framework (COSO) to assess design and operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
• Experience in accounting management in a Big Four firm with Fortune 500 clients.
• Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.

Base salary ranges (USD):

• Culver City, CA – $95,400.00 – $ annually
• Boston, MA – $95,400.00 – $ annually
• Portland, OR – $95,400.00 – $ annually
• Nashville, TN – $85,900.00 – $ annually
• Austin, TX – $95,400.00 – $ annually
• Arlington, VA – $95,400.00 – $ annually
• Seattle, WA – $95,400.00 – $ annually

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
