Accounting Lead – Portland, OR

Newly created Accounting Lead job available in SW Portland, OR with an established local organization. This company is known for their commitment to culture and fostering interdepartmental relationships. In this role, you'll work with experienced leaders, and report directly into the Controller. The role itself will oversee Billing, AP, Cash, and Fixed assets, including month end close functions. This is a nonsupervisory role, but does review the work of others and lean into team mentorship.

We are looking for someone degreed, with hands on experience in each of these areas, along with exceptional communication and mentorship skills.

Location:

SW Portland - hybrid 2-3 days on site weekly

Compensation & Benefits: $95, + bonus

Position:

  • Oversee Cash, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable for multiple entities
  • Oversee Custom Billing functions for 3 entities
  • Review and report on high volume of employee expense reports and credit cards
  • Ownership of Fixed Assets
  • Review work, provide team mentorship and training where needed
  • Created Month End Journal entries for AP/AR, research and resolve discrepancies
  • End of year tax support

Seeking:

  • 5+ years of related experience including AP and AR functions
  • Experience reviewing Accounts Payable transactions, ideally in a multi-entity environment
  • Hands-on experience with Journal Entries and Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • MS Excel - Pivot Tables and Vlookups at a minimum, ability to navigate linked spreadsheets and large datasets
  • Some proven mentorship and training abilities
  • Some ERP experience, not just Quick Books
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related
