Staff Accountant

Location: Portland, OR (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to $70,000

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their collaborative finance team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to gain broad accounting experience while supporting the monthly close, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and support the monthly and year-end close process.
• Assist with financial reporting by preparing draft financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting financial analysis.
• Manage daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, cash reconciliations, banking, and collections.
• Support audits and regulatory compliance by preparing schedules, assisting with external audit requests, maintaining internal controls, and completing 1099 reporting.
• Analyze financial data including grant and contract activity, restricted funds, revenue accruals, and other ad hoc financial reporting projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
