Senior Accountant - SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting

We're seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong technical accounting and external reporting background to join our clients Accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys researching complex accounting issues, preparing SEC filings, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, and partnering cross-functionally to support strategic initiatives.

You'll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting while helping the organization navigate evolving accounting standards and business transactions. This position does require in office presence.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and review quarterly and annual external financial statements, including SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and other required disclosures).
• Research and document technical accounting conclusions related to complex transactions, new accounting pronouncements, and business initiatives.
• Prepare technical accounting memos supporting accounting positions under U.S. GAAP.
• Assist with implementation of new accounting standards and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Partner with internal stakeholders on acquisitions, new contracts, debt arrangements, stock compensation, and other complex transactions.
• Support the month-end and quarter-end close process as needed.
• Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Assist with the development and enhancement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Monitor changes in accounting guidance and assess potential impacts to the business.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience and/or technical accounting/external reporting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience preparing or reviewing SEC filings and financial statement disclosures.
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written communication skills with experience drafting technical accounting documentation.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA certification (active or eligible).
• Big Four or national public accounting experience.
• Experience with SEC reporting in a publicly traded company.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Net Suite.
