Contract Senior Accountant
Pay: $35-$38/hour
Location:
West Side of the Portland Metro Area (Onsite) Duration: 1-2 Month Contract (Potential Extension)
Position Overview:
A well-established company in the commercial construction industry is seeking a Contract Senior Accountant to assist with a significant accounting backlog and month-end close activities during an ERP transition. This is a hands-on project-focused role ideal for an accounting professional who can quickly assess priorities, reconcile accounts, and help bring financial records current.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve outstanding discrepancies.
- Prepare and record depreciation journal entries.
- Review and maintain prepaid expense schedules.
- Analyze general ledger activity and ensure transactions are coded accurately.
- Assist with month-end close activities and backlog cleanup.
- Support the close of outstanding accounting periods.
- Research and resolve accounting issues as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a Senior Accountant capacity.
- Strong hands-on experience with Sage 300 is required.
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, fixed assets, and prepaids.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Net Suite.
- Prior experience in construction, roofing, or other project-based industries.
- Experience supporting accounting clean-up or ERP transition projects.
