Financial Reporting, Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, Financial Controller
Who We Are
We’re partnering with an established manufacturing company in Tigard looking for a high-level accounting professional to take ownership of its accounting function and help guide the company financially into its next stage of growth.
Location: Tigard, OR
Pay: $95-100k DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Full-Time
This isn't your typical Senior Accountant position. We’re looking for someone who can handle the nuts and bolts of accounting but also see beyond the numbers
. Someone who understands where the company has been, where it is today, and can proactively identify financial strategies, efficiencies, and opportunities that help leadership make smarter decisions.
You’ll report directly to the Company President and oversee an existing accounting team member. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Controller who enjoys being hands-on but also wants a seat at the table when it comes to the bigger financial picture.
What You’ll Do- Own day-to-day, monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting operations
- Oversee the full AP and AR cycles
- Manage month-end and year-end close, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reporting
- Monitor cash flow and provide forecasting to support business decisions
- Manage inventory accounting, cost accounting, job costing, standard costing, and margin analysis
- Analyze financial results and identify trends, risks, opportunities, and potential solutions
- Partner directly with the Company President and senior leadership on forecasting and financial strategy
- Develop and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
- Work with the company's outside CPA firm on tax planning, filings, audits, and supporting documentation
- Ensure accounting practices remain GAAP compliant
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, accuracy, and efficiency
- Lead, mentor, and develop the existing accounting team member
- Help leadership understand not just what the numbers say, but what the company should do with that information
The actual role owns everything from AP/AR and GL through financial reporting, cash management, inventory accounting, costing, forecasting and internal controls.
What’s In It for You- Direct-hire opportunity
- Work directly with the Company President and senior leadership
- Take ownership of the accounting function rather than being one small piece of a large department
- Opportunity to influence financial strategy and business decisions
- Leadership responsibility with an existing accounting team member
- Established manufacturing environment where your experience can make an immediate impact
- Opportunity to improve systems, processes, and financial visibility
- A role with the scope of a Controller and the opportunity to bring near‑CFO-level financial thinking to the organization
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is forward-thinking
. We don't want someone who simply closes the books and reports what already happened. We want someone who can dig into the numbers, recognize what they mean for the business, and bring ideas and solutions to leadership.
The company is looking for someone closer to a Controller with strong financial-planning acumen than a traditional transactional Senior Accountant.
What You Need to Have- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of senior-level accounting experience
- Strong experience managing month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close
- Strong general ledger, reconciliation, and financial statement preparation experience
- Advanced Quick Books and Excel skills
- Strong experience working within MRP/ERP systems
- Solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls
- Experience with forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis
- Manufacturing and inventory accounting experience strongly preferred
- Cost accounting, job costing, standard costing, and margin analysis experience is highly valuable
- Proven experience supervising, mentoring, or developing accounting staff
- Experience working with outside CPA firms and/or auditors is a plus
- Strong business acumen and the confidence to work directly with company leadership
