Accountant III – Hybrid (3 days/week in office)

Locations:
Portland, Medford, Fargo, Burlington, Vancouver, Renton, Boise, Lewiston, Spokane, Salt Lake City. Candidates must reside within commutable distance of the chosen location.

As a member of the Accounting team, the Accountant III will perform a variety of general, cash management/treasury, and cost accounting activities including financial statement preparation, account, bank and report reconciliations and analysis, development of desktop procedures, and participation in the development, maintenance and analysis of company budgets, forecasts, cost data and operating plans—all in service of creating a person‑focused health‑care experience.

• Prepare required monthly journal entries in a timely manner to record appropriate accruals, reclassifications and related transactions.
• Maintain and reconcile various balance sheet accounts and prepare documentation for reconciling journal entries.
• Accurately prepare components of basic corporate and subsidiary financial statements and gather, validate, and summarize accounting or statistical data.
• Maintain allocation tables within the cost accounting system and may review and validate information with operating departments.
• Prepare and analyze administrative cost and budget reports, investigate budget variances at department, division, line of business and activity level.
• Coordinate with other plans and departments as necessary; provide internal and external auditors with reconciliations, schedules and adjustments.
• Investigate unusual transactions or activities, propose process improvements and updates to allocation tables.
• Mentor new team members and assist in onboarding.
• Prepare ad‑hoc analyses and research/current accounting and auditing standards as requested.
• Provide support and coordination for operation of complex financial systems.
• Assist Accountants I & II in routine job functions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with 3‑5 years of relevant experience (equivalent education and experience accepted).
• CPA, CMA or MBA preferred.
• Strong analytical thinking and sound judgment based on analysis.
• Excellent planning, organizational and time‑management skills.
• Adaptability to flexible hours during heavy workloads.
• Proficiency with PC and mainframe software systems used by the company.
• Effective teamwork and communication with staff and management.
• Demonstrated accounting knowledge in GAAP, SAP, CAS, FAR, FEHBAR, and related healthcare accounting principles.
• Experience in cost accounting, government accounting and financial reporting.
• Ability to research and prepare ad‑hoc reports and accounting guidance.
• Experience with AI tools and technologies is highly desirable.

Primarily performed in office; may require overtime or outside normal business hours.

Oregon, Washington, Utah, and Idaho:
Expected hiring range $62,900 – $85,100 (full salary range $59,000 – $97,000) with a 5% bonus target. North Dakota:
Expected hiring range $59,837.48 – $80,956.60 (full salary range $54,151.66 – $86,642.43).
