Worksource Oregon is partnering with a Portland Metro employer who is recruiting for an Full charge Bookkeeper for their warehouse in North Portland.
REQUIREMENTS- 5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience
- Experience managing accounting for a small to mid-sized business including preparation of financial statements
- Experience coordinating with outside CPA firms
- Strong understanding of GAAP & accrual accounting
- 1+ years HR administrative & payroll processing experience
- Experience coordinating with outside CPA firms
- Advanced Excel
- Experience with Quick Books (Desktop or Online) or similar accounting software
- Strong organizational & communication skills
- Confidential & trustworthy
- Comfortable working directly with ownership
- Able to prioritize competing deadlines & strong attention to detail
- AA or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- Experience managing accounting for a small to mid-sized business ($3M-$20M revenue)
- Certified Bookkeeper or similar credential
- Experience in event planning, hospitality, professional services, or project-based businesses
- Experience implementing accounting process improvements
- Maintain the general ledger & chart of accounts
- Process accounts payable & accounts receivable
- Perform bank, credit card, & balance sheet reconciliations
- Record journal entries & month-end adjustments
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Maintain fixed asset schedules
- Manage cash flow reporting
- Maintain accurate accounting records & supporting documentation
- Assist ownership with financial analysis & reporting
- Improve accounting procedures & internal controls
- Prepare annual budgets
- Update rolling cash flow forecasts
- Assist management with financial projections
- Monitor actual results versus budget
- Identify trends and provide financial insights
- Prepare year-end taxes & serve as primary contact with outside CPA firm
- Assist with annual financial reviews
- Maintain supporting schedules for tax reporting
- Respond to requests from tax advisors and auditors
- Maintain accounting software and reporting tools
- Recommend efficiencies and process improvements for financial & administrative processes/systems
- Maintain employee personnel files and coordinating employee onboarding/offboarding
- Process payroll accurately & timely
- Coordinate payroll tax filings with payroll provider
- Administer employee benefits and deductions
- Maintain PTO and employee leave records
- Assist with workers' compensation reporting
HOURS:
Full time - 40 hours per week. Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm with occasional overtime.
