As a Staff Accountant in the Assurance Department, you will assist in audits for a variety of organizations, with a focus on nonprofit agencies. The ideal candidate will collaborate with both internal team members and external clients. The role requires someone eager to learn and apply technical accounting skills while working under coaching and supervision to meet client needs and project deadlines.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Performs a variety of audit tasks, including client data analysis, audit fieldwork, and documentation
- Analyzes, researches, and synthesizes client data, ensuring clarity when communicating results externally
- Understands and establishes client expectations, tailoring services to meet each client’s unique needs
- Ensure the timely completion of assigned tasks, meeting established chargeable hour goals
- Manages multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Performs walk throughs on engagements and roll forwards of financials and work papers
- Complete other related duties as designated by senior team members
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong client-facing communication skills with an emphasis on customer service
- Well-organized and with the ability to work efficiently and prioritize appropriately
- Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or experience in a related field required
- CPA licensed or qualified candidate
- Associates degree or related certifications highly preferred
