The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice is a large undergraduate program, a graduate program, and a research institute (CJPRI). This position performs service‑focused administrative work, record processing and technical support, provides information to faculty, staff, students and the broader community, assists with business functions of the department, and performs general receptionist duties. The role is on‑campus, in‑office, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch.
Minimum Qualifications• Two years of general clerical experience, with at least one year that included typing, word processing, or other document generation skills.
• OR an Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology.
• OR a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology from a private business school

* * one year of general clerical experience.
• College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Successful completion of a background check.
- Experience working in higher education, especially PSU.
- Working knowledge of Banner, Cognos, Drupal, and Google Suite.
- Demonstrated experience working with confidential information.
- Demonstrated experience working in a busy, professional office setting.
- Demonstrated success working in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to self‑manage multiple timelines and priorities.
- Creates an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates differences.

Compensation and BenefitsThe starting salary rate for this position will be between $19.36 and $21.91 per hour. The starting rate may be negotiable above this range, depending on the candidate’s knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as department budget and HR approval. PSU’s benefits package includes 95% premium‑paid healthcare, a generous retirement and vacation package, and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse, or dependent at any Oregon Public University.
