Position Summary
Serving as the operational anchor for the Disability Resource Center ( DRC ), this position independently manages complex departmental administration, data workflows, and fiscal tracking from the central public-facing intake hub. The individual concurrently provides high-level programmatic triaging, interprets university and federal accessibility guidelines, and oversees student staff operations during designated coverage hours.
Operating with a high degree of independence, the Office Manager collaborates closely with department leadership, faculty, students, and campus partners to ensure compliance and support the DRC’s mission of fostering an accessible university environment.
Minimum Qualifications from Classification
- - Three years of office experience which included two years at full performance level and experience generating documents;
AND - - Lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures.
Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position
- Three years of progressive office environment experience, which must include at least two years at a full-performance level executing administrative document generation, data management, or fiscal tracking; AND
- Demonstrated experience with lead-work responsibility (e.g., training, scheduling, or assigning work) or the direct coordination of complex, multi-layered office procedures.
- An equivalent combination of postsecondary education, technical training, and professional experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
- A demonstrated willingness to actively engage in ongoing equity, anti-racism, and inclusion initiatives within a diverse university environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Accessibility Sector
Experience:
Professional experience working within a higher education accessibility services office, disability resource center, or a closely related community advocacy setting. - Database & Systems Proficiency: Demonstrated familiarity or direct experience utilizing the Accessible Information Management ( AIM ) platform, Banner, or comparable complex student information databases.
- Fiscal Operations: Experience executing departmental procurement, invoice processing, and account reconciliation workflows within an institutional or public sector environment.
- Crisis Triage: Formal training or practical experience in trauma-informed care, crisis de-escalation, or managing high-stress student and faculty inquiries.
- Creates an environment that acknowledges, encourages and celebrates differences.
- Functions and communicates effectively and respectfully within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities and cultural backgrounds.
