Position: Digital Content Specialist.

Duties

  • Lead the content management cadre (including two Digital Information Technicians) to develop, modify, and implement content management plans aligned with evolving organizational strategies.
  • Collaborate with Knowledge Management Unit (KMU) customers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to establish effective recordkeeping practices and modern approaches to capturing, organizing, and retrieving information.
  • Conduct electronic file analysis (utilizing tools like Tree Size) and leverage metadata/usage statistics to diagnose the current state of electronic files and inform holistic management strategies.
  • Serve as the Records Coordinator, maintaining master file systems and ensuring compliance with federal, Corps, and Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS) regulations.
  • Develop and maintain descriptive metadata terms, controlled vocabularies, and internal knowledge-sharing websites to ensure logical, consistent, and efficient information retrieval.
  • Aid in the tracking, organization, and inventory of content for digitization initiatives, traveling to physical locations as necessary to preserve historical documents.
  • Oversee Content Management and Strategic Planning for a diverse range of documents and materials.
  • Perform indexing of a variety of records, files, and documents to ensure accurate and efficient knowledge management and catalog of information.
  • Ensure compliance of both electronic and hard copy records and documents in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, archival standards and records management systems.
  • Provide digitization support to the knowledge management unit and District Librarian by documenting material details to enhance decision-making for digitization initiatives and historical preservation of full range of documents and materials.
  • Travel to various locations as needed to assist in the organization and inventory of essential files and content.
Requirements Conditions of employment
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position requires a valid drivers license.
  • This position requires Army Records Coordinator training is required within 60 days of entrance on duty.
