Limited Production Assistant

Multnomah County Library is currently hiring a part-time Limited Duration Production Assistant to provide support for the Library’s print shop and coordinate distribution of print and promotional materials for the Marketing and Communications team.

Limited duration positions are long-term temporary positions that offer employees full access to County benefits and leave. This 20 hour position is expected to last two years from the date of hire; however, the appointment may end earlier based on business needs. The hiring list created from this recruitment may be used to fill future full time, part-time, temporary or limited duration positions should they become available.

Under the direction of our Printing Specialist, you will operate a variety of printing equipment, including a paper cutter, a paper folder, laminator, a color printer, and other production equipment to assist in the production of high-quality marketing materials for the Library system. You will be responsible for distributing newly printed materials in a timely fashion according to requests or established procedures as well as distributing library materials in response to staff requests.

Additionally, you will maintain inventory lists of printed items and keep distribution and production records. You will also coordinate with our Marketing and Communications staff regarding special projects, storage of materials, notices to staff about new materials, and projected inventories of publications.

This is a physically demanding position which requires you to continuously lift and carry up to 10 pounds and to frequently lift and carry 11 to 25 pounds. You should expect to occasionally lift and carry 21 to 50 pounds and to occasionally push and pull more than 75 pounds.

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• One year of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties listed above.
