Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Reconditioned and Salvage Vehicle (Car) Buyer or Body and Frame Inspector to join our Purchasing Team. The position will be responsible for purchasing vehicles at various auctions, rebuilder shops, trade networks and inspector vehicles.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for, but not limited to the following job duties:
- Inspection
- Complete a multi-point inspection to identify all other repairs needed, only recommending repairs needed.
- Diagnose and identify root cause concerns as discussed with the customer.
- Test drive to verify concerns with the vehicle as necessary.
- Work with Suppliers and Auto Savvy personnel to correctly identify mechanical repairs needed as well as items found on the multi-point inspection to create parts and labor estimates for repair.
- Test drive and inspect repaired vehicle to ensure that the problem(s) have been completely fixed.
- Perform a complete post-repair inspection for quality, safety and reliability.
- Communicate any failed items during quality control inspections.
- Inspector Management
- Maintain the shop and service area for cleanliness.
- Daily Stand-up Scrum Meeting with the Team.
- Weekly Sprint Review.
- Monthly personal development reviews with staff.
- Relationship Management
- Sources, establishes, and maintains relationships with salvage title, vehicle rebuilders/suppliers, auctions, and various sources for the purpose of purchasing vehicles that meet Auto Savvy requirements.
- Cold calling.
- Direct shop visits.
- Proper documentation of supplier visits.
- Engaging suppliers in professional relationship.
- Demonstrate financial benefits.
- Resolving concerns with suppliers.
- Purchasing Cars
- Monitors used automobile market for trends in vehicle values.
- Maintains ongoing customer relations with Suppliers and Auction Personnel.
- Meet with Suppliers and attend auctions to buy cars that meet Auto Savvy requirements.
- Move cars from the designated customer drop off into and out of the staging area safely for transport to our retail dealership locations.
