Personal Financial Counselor, Counselor Oregon

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage in short‑term, surge, and on‑demand situations resulting from military needs.
• Deliver full‑breadth personal financial counseling services to service members and families at military installations, including one‑on‑one counseling, briefings, presentations, and referrals.
• Work closely with installation and military branch points of contact (POC) to assure program scope and needs are met.
• Assist service members in establishing spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and distribute informational financial materials.
• Coordinate, publicize, and provide a variety of Personal Financial Management classes and workshops covering the military lifecycle.
• Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling and other electronic communication modes such as web‑based chat or video‑teleconference.
• Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in regular supervision, sharing trend information with assigned installations.
• Participate in in‑services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contract activities as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree required (associate degree plus 4 years of experience or high school diploma plus 6 years of experience may be considered).
• Minimum of 3years of financial counseling experience.
• U.S. citizen who speaks fluent English (bilingual in English and Spanish may be required).
• Ability to obtain a Tier2 security investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Certification required:
  Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Salary Range: $58,440 – $93,500 (annual, base salary). The actual pay may vary by location and experience.
