Summary:Ren Energy is seeking an individual with seven or more years of experience leading engagement with manufacturing groups in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. This individual will be responsible for successfully building relationships with the manufacturing partners of Ren Energy’s customers, and helping to move those partners towards renewable energy procurement. Initial responsibilities include regular calls and outreach to our customers’ priority factories and supplier partners, organizing and leading supplier workshops, and occasionally visiting the suppliers and factories in person.
During this outreach, the individual in this role will be seeking to understand the business of the suppliers and the hurdles they face in procuring renewable energy and should then help troubleshoot the barriers to procurement wherever possible. This individual will be expected to help generate the written materials associated with this work in both English and the supplier's native language.
In time, this role will likely evolve to oversee and manage a team of Ren supplier engagement specialists located throughout key APAC countries. This role will be supported by the team of renewable energy experts within Ren.
- Engaging directly with manufacturers across the APAC region via phone, email, other electronic communication channels, and in‑person.
- Creating and executing the strategy for moving key suppliers and factories towards renewable energy procurement.
- Organizing and leading in‑person and virtual workshops for suppliers to help them understand the benefits of transitioning to renewable energy and troubleshoot the associated challenges.
- Collaborating with the entire Ren Energy team on best practices for engaging suppliers.
- Regularly reporting on progress and challenges to the larger Ren team and Ren’s customers.
- Generating materials to support the education around and execution of renewable energy procurement by suppliers and factories.
- In time, growing and managing a team of supplier engagement experts across the APAC region.
- At least seven (7) years of experience successfully building relationships and engaging with manufacturers and suppliers in the Asia Pacific region.
- Located in China, Hong Kong, or Taiwan.
- Proven experience generating supplier engagement strategies and executing on those strategies.
- Ability to generate presentation‑ready educational materials and present verbally convey complex information in both English and Mandarin.
- Comfort communicating with individuals at all levels of an organization, from the manufacturing line worker to the CEO.
- Baseline knowledge of the energy industry and renewable energy procurement methods, ideally in China.
- A reliable computer and stable internet access.
- Willingness to regularly connect with the Ren Energy team, based out of Portland, Oregon, USA (Pacific Time Zone), to help build the team’s internal knowledge and capabilities and give feedback on the Ren platform.
- Willingness to occasionally join and contribute to calls with Ren Energy’s customers.
- Ability to regularly communicate with manufacturers and suppliers.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business, supply chain, international law, or a related field.
- A history of organizing and leading workshops for suppliers and manufacturers in countries within the APAC region.
- Experience working with suppliers in the apparel/footwear or semiconductor industries.
- Previous experience building and leading remote teams across the APAC region.
