Contracting Officer

Job Title

Join a well-respected team responsible for exercising a delegation of authority to contract for a variety of services, supplies, and equipment. In addition, you will provide a variety of administrative support services in such areas as purchasing and space management.

Typical work assignments will include:

• Developing and documenting acquisition strategy for procuring supplies and services that may require a variety of specialized handling provisions, terms, and conditions.
• Serving as the senior and final level review for all actions within delegated procurement authority associated with pre-award negotiation objectives, price reasonableness determinations, and contract dispute resolutions.
• Preparing Statements of Work (SOW) or Statements of Objectives (SOO), and other documents necessary to ensure all appropriate specifications are clear prior to a formal solicitation process.
• Reviewing requisitions and determining appropriate method of procurement; contract type; formal advertising; or other means adhering to appropriate policy, procedures, and processes.
• Evaluating proposals, unsolicited proposals, and other bid documents.
• Performing cost analysis and other evaluation actions to determine value of lowest bid in award decisions.
• Preparing recommendations for award documenting reasons for decisions including justifying basis for not recommending the lowest bidder.
• Projecting and analyzing space needs on proposed initiatives, staff changes, and technology improvements.
• Providing administrative support in the areas of contracting and purchasing.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
