Special Projects Group Estimator
Location: Portland, OR
Compensation: Competitive + Benefits
We are looking for a detail‑oriented Construction Estimator to join our Special Projects Group. This role will focus on preparing accurate estimates and proposals for a variety of fast‑paced, smaller‑scale commercial construction projects, including tenant improvements, renovations, and special assignments.
Key Responsibilities- Review drawings, specifications, and scope documents to prepare detailed estimates
- Perform quantity take‑offs and develop pricing for labor, materials, and subcontractors
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/vendor bids to ensure competitive coverage
- Prepare budgets, proposals, and bid packages for negotiated and hard‑bid work
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify scope and identify cost‑saving opportunities
- Maintain historical cost data and update estimating tools for accuracy
- Support turnover meetings to ensure a smooth handoff to operations teams
- 3–5+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction (special projects, TI, renovations preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and subcontractor trades
- Proficiency with estimating software, take‑off tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Strong communication and organizational skills with a client‑first mindset
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
