• Coordinate, perform, and/or supervise technical engineering work in the field or office.
• Inspect, observe, and ensure that construction projects conform to contract plans and specifications.
• Maintain accurate daily records of labor, equipment, materials, and quantities.
• Identify contract changes and assist in preparation of change orders.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, owners, construction managers, documentation engineers, and other field staff.
• Prepare field note records for progress payments.
• Coordinate required material sampling and testing.

• 10+ years of progressive experience in construction inspection, with responsibility for complex projects and oversight of construction activities.
• Proficiency with standard office and reporting tools, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, for documentation, reporting, and tracking of construction issues.
• Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with client representatives, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the public, and to provide guidance to junior inspection staff.
• High self‑direction, capable of operating independently with minimal supervision and exercising sound judgment in the field.
• Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple inspection activities simultaneously and prioritize issues through resolution.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, required for field assignments.

• General contracting experience.
• Experience with ODOT projects.
• ODOT Inspector Certifications.
• Experience inspecting federally funded projects.
• Construction material sampling experience.
