Senior Construction Inspector – Portland

What You’ll DoKey Responsibilities
- Coordinate, perform, and/or supervise technical engineering work in the field or office.
- Inspect, observe, and ensure that construction projects conform to contract plans and specifications.
- Maintain accurate daily records of labor, equipment, materials, and quantities.
- Identify contract changes and assist in preparation of change orders.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, owners, construction managers, documentation engineers, and other field staff.
- Prepare field note records for progress payments.
- Coordinate required material sampling and testing.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in construction inspection, with responsibility for complex projects and oversight of construction activities.
- Proficiency with standard office and reporting tools, such as Microsoft Word and Excel, for documentation, reporting, and tracking of construction issues.
- Proven ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with client representatives, contractors, regulatory agencies, and the public, and to provide guidance to junior inspection staff.
- High self‑direction, capable of operating independently with minimal supervision and exercising sound judgment in the field.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple inspection activities simultaneously and prioritize issues through resolution.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, required for field assignments.
- General contracting experience.
- Experience with ODOT projects.
- ODOT Inspector Certifications.
- Experience inspecting federally funded projects.
- Construction material sampling experience.
