Job Description & How to Apply Below

VP Of Construction

Winning and delivering complex landscape construction projects will be the central focus of the VP of Construction. Supporting commercial, municipal, and mixed-use developments throughout the Pacific Northwest, the platform executes multimillion-dollar hardscape and softscape projects in a market where estimating accuracy, disciplined execution, and strong general contractor relationships directly influence results. The role will integrate leadership of preconstruction, estimating, and field operations, with accountability for portfolio margins, project schedules, bid performance, and GC partnerships.

The ideal executive brings a record of securing competitive work, protecting job-cost profitability, and developing the field leadership and operating structure required to scale while maintaining execution quality.

KEY LEADERSHIP MANDATES

  • Portfolio P&L Ownership:
Own the construction P&L with direct accountability for revenue, job-cost margin, and EBITDA across the full project portfolio.
  • Preconstruction & Estimating:
Direct the estimating function to ensure bid accuracy, scope discipline, and strategic value engineering that wins work without eroding margin.
  • GC Relationship Management:
Build and manage preferred partner relationships with Tier-1 general contractors, developers, and owners reps to drive bid access and repeat work.
  • Field Execution Leadership:
Own project delivery from mobilization through closeout — enforcing schedule adherence, cost-to-complete discipline, and quality standards across all active projects.
  • Change Order Management:
Institutionalize proactive change order identification, documentation, and negotiation to protect margin on complex, scope-evolving projects.
  • Labor & Subcontractor Management:
Optimize the deployment of large field crews and specialty subcontractors across simultaneous projects in a high-demand labor market.
  • Safety &

    Risk Management:

Enforce safety protocols and quality control standards that minimize liability, warranty exposure, and project risk.
  • Project Leadership Development:
Recruit and develop a high-performing team of project managers and superintendents capable of executing independently on complex builds.

IDEAL EXECUTIVE PROFILE

The successful candidate is a seasoned construction executive with a track record of managing multi-million-dollar commercial landscape, civil, or site-work portfolios. You have owned estimating and field execution, managed Tier-1 GC relationships, and delivered complex projects on margin in competitive bid environments. You are a metrics-driven leader who builds field accountability systems and manages cost-to-complete with discipline.

WHAT MAKES THIS OPPORTUNITY DISTINCT

This role offers executive leadership of the construction function in a growing commercial landscape platform with an established GC network and active project pipeline. You will have the authority to shape estimating strategy, build the project leadership team, and drive portfolio margin in a high-growth Pacific Northwest market. It is a high-accountability seat for a construction leader ready to own delivery.
