We’re hiring a Project Engineer to join our commercial mechanical and plumbing construction team in Portland, Oregon.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term career in construction management.
Mechanical or plumbing experience is preferred, but not required. We’re looking for someone who is organized, motivated, technically curious, and ready to take on increasing responsibility. Arctic offers competitive salary and generous benefits package.
In this role, you’ll work directly with experienced Project Managers, field leaders, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and general contractors to help manage commercial mechanical and plumbing projects from startup through closeout.
What You’ll Do- Coordinate submittals, RFIs, procurement, and project documentation
- Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents
- Track equipment, materials, lead times, and deliveries
- Assist with project schedules, budgets, change orders, and cost tracking
- Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and general contractors
- Attend project and coordination meetings
- Visit jobsites and develop a strong understanding of how mechanical systems are built
- Assist with QA/QC, commissioning, punch lists, and project closeout
- Take on increasing project management responsibility as your experience grows
- Strong organization and follow-through
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with both field personnel and office/project teams
- Interest in construction, engineering, and how buildings are built
- Construction Management, Engineering, or similar degree preferred
- Previous construction experience preferred, but not required
- We want to develop Project Engineers into Project Managers and future leaders within the company.
- You’ll gain experience in HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, fabrication, BIM/VDC, estimating, procurement, cost management, scheduling, and field operations.
