Position: CPB Rock the Bluff Coordinator

This is a student volunteer experience position. Volunteer experience participants receive monthly stipend payments.

The Rock the Bluff Coordinator(s) are in charge of planning and executing the annual major concert for the UP student body. While this position only has one large event per year, the planning process takes the entire academic year.

Core Duties
  • Research musical artists and create artist proposals in fall semester (artists must be in line with UP policies and procedures relating to campus performances)
  • Keep open communication channels with the venue team, artist, their representatives, and middle agents regarding the event
  • Work collaboratively with marketing team, as well as out-of-house designers, to create marketing campaigns, timelines, and materials
  • Assist in the development and execution of the Rock the Bluff Release Party, as well as any events leading up to the concert including promotional events and ticket distribution
  • Work with CPB Director and Advisor to coordinate all event logistics (including security plans, hospitality needs, production needs, volunteers, run-of-show, etc.)
  • Assist in collaborative brainstorming sessions with other coordinators to create and develop events
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA to apply

Preferred Qualifications
  • High attention to detail and working within an assigned budget
  • Effective, timely, and professional communication to students, faculty/staff, and external vendors
  • Proficient in public speaking or interested in improving public speaking skills
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot challenges in preparation for and throughout events
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design software
  • Prior experience with event planning or interest in learning about event planning
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 25-50 pounds and push heavy equipment on wheeled cart
