Pay Range: $30 - $33/hour. Traveler benefits as per agency package. (Benefits vary by vendor and assignment.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, screen, and route a high volume of incoming calls through an electronic switchboard system.
  • Take and relay telephone messages accurately and promptly.
  • Greet, assist, escort, and direct visitors as needed.
  • Provide general information and telephone directory assistance to callers and visitors.
  • Maintain accurate on-call staff schedules.
  • Support hospital response procedures for emergencies, drills, and code calls as directed.
  • Use computer systems, databases, and email to support daily operations.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, visitors, staff, and providers.
  • Work effectively in an environment with multiple tasks, interruptions, and changing priorities.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of operator, switchboard, receptionist, call center, or customer service experience.
  • Strong English language skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a busy environment with frequent distractions.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including:
  • Windows programs
  • Email systems
  • Database systems
  • Strong patience, courtesy, and professionalism when working with others.
  • Prior healthcare, hospital, or medical center experience.
  • Experience operating a multi-line phone or electronic switchboard.
