City of Portland’s Bureau of Emergency Communications seeks an Emergency Communications Dispatcher Trainee. Trainees receive paid training to answer 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls and to dispatch police, fire, medical and mental health responders.
No prior experience is required; the work is fast-paced but rewarding, with guidance and feedback to ensure quality service. Starting pay is $33.70 per hour, with planned increases during training and promotion to Senior Dispatchers at $41.10 per hour.
